These finer quality rugs often have a sheen on the pile and this superb piece is no exception. The pile is deliberately cut tight (short) and this further enhances the clarity and crispness of the typically geometric pattern.This particular example is a real gem. The colour combinations are truly superb. The red is soft and not too strong or overpowering. The remaining colours include creams, mid and light blues, pale pink and small amounts of green. Each colour being ‘broken’ rather than solid due to the weavers skill in mixing up similar shades of the same colour wool during the weaving process.This fine hand woven rug measures 4 feet 9 inches long by 3 feet 4 inches wide.
